It’s Never Too Late to Add Solar!

IMG_3852.jpg

Burning fossil fuels for energy adds carbon to the atmosphere, which is warming our planet like a heat-trapping blanket. The state has set a target of 100% clean electricity for California by 2045. However, experts say we need to accelerate the phase-out of fossil fuels to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius, in order to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. To do this, we need to install more solar energy systems.

Installing solar power at our homes is an important way we can reduce our carbon emissions. There are a number of important decisions to make. Which contractor to select? How many panels to install? Should battery storage be added and if so, what size? Which PGE billing rate to select?

Our webinar helped to answer these questions and more. Our expert panel and local residents with solar and battery storage shared their experiences:

  • David Rempel, West Marin Climate Action Steering Committee
(On size, cost and other decisions)

  • Darren Kelly, SolarCraft
    (On solar & batteries: Installation)

  • Sebastian Conn, Marin Clean Energy
    (On rebates and Incentives)

There was an active Q&A. With a great turnout, participants learned a lot. Here’s what a couple of participants had to say:
"This webinar was great. I've had solar since 2005, and am looking to upgrade, and include batteries."
"This webinar has been very informative as to what is currently available."
